Community Services Support Worker

Community Services Support Workers provide services to clients who are either older and frail or younger and have moderate to severe disabilities.

Role Description:

  • Community Services Support Workers provide services to clients who are either older and frail or younger and have moderate to severe disabilities. These clients live in the community.

    Duties of community services support workers include assisting clients with daily self-care tasks such as showering, toileting, dressing and grooming. They assist with domestic tasks such as menu planning, cooking, mopping, vacuuming, ironing and washing. They support their clients with social activities and outings, and may also take their clients shopping.

    Community Services Support Workers also need to document the client’s case notes. This role may also include assisting clients with their medication.

  • You will need to be caring and have good communication skills. You will need a supportive attitude, and to have patience and discretion. It is important to be physically fit, have a good work ethic and good time management skills. You need to be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Salary:

  • Middle of the range starting salary in Australia: $39,000.
