Runcorn SHS launches Health Academy

Runcorn State High School was donated a shipping container optimised to deliver primary health services, which will be used by the school as a training hub for students

A  Brisbane-based construction company has donated a $150,000 shipping container modified as a health clinic to Runcorn State High School.

These containers were purpose-built to deliver health services in areas with little or no health service support and was intended to be used for COVID-19 testing and health service deliver in rural and remote Queensland.

Given the fortunately low number of cases of COVID in Queensland, extra containers were donated for training and to health organisations to deliver services.

Runcorn SHS students currently pursuing qualifications in health will be able to gain some practical experience with easy access to their new on-site Health Academy.
